Complete Abyss Strategy Guide

What is Memory of Chaos?

Memory of Chaos (also known as the Abyss) is Honkai: Star Rail's endgame challenge content that tests your team building skills and combat strategy. It consists of multiple floors with increasing difficulty, where you'll face waves of powerful enemies and bosses.

This permanent game mode refreshes twice a month (on the 1st and 16th) and offers substantial Stellar Jade rewards based on your performance, making it essential for F2P and light spenders to clear as much as possible.

Key Features

Time-Limited Challenges

Each chamber has a time limit (usually 5 minutes). You must defeat all enemies within this time to receive full stars.

Star Rating System

Each floor has 3 chambers, and each chamber awards up to 3 stars based on completion time. More stars mean better rewards.

Difficulty Scaling

Higher floors have stronger enemies with more HP and damage. The last floor typically features the most challenging content.

Blessing Buffs

Each cycle features different "blessings" that provide buffs to certain playstyles or character types, influencing team building.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often does Memory of Chaos reset?

Memory of Chaos resets twice per month - on the 1st and 16th of each month.

Do I need 5-star characters to clear all floors?

While 5-star characters make it easier, it's possible to clear most floors with well-built 4-star characters. However, getting 36 stars on the highest floors typically requires at least some 5-star characters or light cones.

What's the minimum Equilibrium Level recommended?

For Floor 12, an Equilibrium Level of at least 70 is recommended, with level 80 being more comfortable. Lower floors can be cleared with lower Equilibrium Levels.

Should I focus on getting all stars on lower floors first?

Yes, it's generally better to secure all stars on lower floors before attempting higher ones. The difficulty spike between floors is significant.
